The ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Lausanne 2019 will be held from Thursday 29 August till Sunday 1 September 2019. In 2019 Lausanne, in Switzerland, will be the host city.
Who can participate?
The ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Lausanne 2019 is currently open for:
- Athletes in categories ‘Elite’, ‘Under 23’, ‘Junior’, ‘Mixed Relay’and ‘Para’ (registration through National Federation)
- Age Group athletes for the Sprint & Standard distance (registration through National Federation)
All registrations for the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Lausanne must be made through the National Federation. No individual registrations are accepted.
Is there a minimum age for participating?
Minimum age for the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Lausanne 2019 is 16 years for the Sprint distance and 18 years for the Standard distance. Check point for the age of the participant is the age at 31 December of the year of the triathlon.
How can I participate?
In order to participate, you have to register through your own National Federation. Please consult your own National Federation for more information.
Each National Federation is establishing its own qualification system for athletes to compete at the ITU Triathlon World Grand Final..
What will be the entrance fee?

Your subscription is personal, it cannot be transferred and are non-refundable for the Age Group events.
What is the average temperature of the water?
The temperature of the lake Leman is between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius in August. In the weeks upcoming to the event we will post more weekly information regarding the water temperature. The wetsuit might be optional or forbidden. You will be informed in the weeks upcoming to the event. You are however obliged to wear a swimcap which is supplied by the organization.
What is the average air temperature in Lausanne in August?
The air temperature is between 21 to 26 degrees Celsius in August.
What will be the surface of the bike race?
The triathlon will take place in the centre of Lausanne, which means that the entire route is paved.
What is the ruling for drafting during the AG races of the Lausanne Grand Final?
Sprint = draft legal
Olympic = draft illegal
